Vandals have damaged some Smith County equipment that will cost taxpayers to fix.
The Road & Bridge Department discovered bullet holes in some of its machinery near Lindale. A motorgrader was parked along County Road 452, near the intersection of County Road 455.
Employees found the windows and a control panel shot out. They say repairing the damages will cost about $1,000. Insurance does not cover the costs.
If you have any information that may help identify who caused the damage, you're asked to call the Sheriff's Department or the county engineer.
