LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month and a fall tradition in Longview, celebrated the life and acceptance.
It was the 14th annual 'Buddy Walk' at the 'ROC' facility, and hundreds turned out in support.
"That's what we want. If people will just treat our children as if they are their friend, as if they can do anything, then we really feel like these kids have a chance of becoming anything that they want to be," says walk chairman T.J. Angus.
Money raised funds down syndrome research, and helps families with medical expenses.
