Cowboys need Sean Lee to stay healthy

OXNARD, CA (KLTV) -

When healthy, Sean Lee has shown the potential to be one of the best linebackers in the NFL. The problem?  The Cowboys star defensive player hasn't been able to stay on the field.

Lee, though, is finally "full-go" after tearing his ACL in the first off-season workout of 2014. Now it's a matter of the former Penn State standout staying healthy. Lee has missed 23 of his last 24 games with knee, neck, and hamstring injuries.

He's unlikely to play in Thursday night's preseason opener, but the Cowboys know what the linebacker brings to the defense, considering Lee has 11 interceptions in 46 games.

"He is one of the best linebackers in the league," fellow linebacker Anthony Hitchens said. "So when you have a guy like that in your classroom, you are definitely gonna learn and get better."

Safety Barry Church added, "He is one of our leaders and one of our captains on this team. It's just great having him back out there. His intensity just helps everybody step their game up. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do out their for us.

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>
