Restaurant Reports: 4 eateries with serious violations

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Four East Texas restaurants had some serious violations in the latest inspection period.

In Tyler,
 
Chili's #23, at 531 West Southwest Loop 323.
 
Hygienic violations found among employees (unclean)
Cross contamination of raw and cooked foods was observed. (danger)
Hand sanitizer seen dripping on food. (danger)
Numerous food contact surfaces dirty & needed cleaning. (unclean)
 
Total demerits :30
6 demerits on re-check.

 
Smashburger, at 7484 South Broadway
 
Sliced tomatoes and cheeses were held too warm and had to be discarded. (thermometer)
Cross contamination of raw & cooked foods were observed. (danger)
There was evidence of fruit-flies and gnat infestation. (insect)
Food contact surfaces were dirty and needed cleaning. (unclean)
 
Total demerits: 18

 
Bullard Donut Café, at 105 South Houston, 

Steam table meats, eggs and potatoes were not held warm enough. (thermometer)
Cross contamination of raw and cooked foods was observed. (danger)
Personal items were found stored near food items. (unclean)

Live and dead roaches were found. (insect)
