ETMC President/CEO Honored

The Tyler Business Hall of Fame got its newest inductee Thursday night. ETMC President and CEO, Elmer Ellis is the recipient of the honor, given by Tyler's Junior Achievement.

One of the highlights at tonight's presentation dinner was the showing of a video presentation, that chronicles Ellis' upbringing, his association with ETMC, which began in 1968, and his rise to president and CEO in 1985.

Under his leadership, ETMC has grown into a network of fifteen hospitals, with several other programs and services that employ more than 6,000 East Texans.

Ellis says he's proud to be associated with Junior Achievement.

"I was privileged to have served and become acquainted with Junior Achievement in its founding activities at the schools," says Ellis. "So I'm very pleased to have been chosen. It's an honor to be selected."

The Business Hall of Fame is the highest award given by Junior Achievement on both a local and national basis.
