DALLAS, TX (KLTV) -

One other Texas school joined the Red Raiders on day one of the Big 12 Media Days. And it happened to be the league favorites. TCU head coach Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs fielded questions about how they will live up to all the hype and expectations in 2015.

With quarterback Trevone Boykin being a Heisman favorite and the Horned Frogs projected to be in the college football playoff, Patterson is welcoming the national spotlight.

"I think it is better than being last," Patterson said. "But I think you have to treat it all the same to be honest with you. This year we have to go to Minnesota, Lubbock, Ames, Manhattan, Stillwater, and Norman. Those are tough places to play. So we have got to play better on the road, especially on offense than we did a year ago, especially in league play."

Jackson is back for Lufkin.Jackson is back for Lufkin.

Like Longview, Lufkin is always talented. Before the Panthers begin District 12-6A action, they'll play a loaded East Texas schedule featuring the Lobos in week 1, followed by Nacogdoches and John Tyler. Normally a 7 and 4 campaign would be considered a success, but not in Panther nation. In fact, despite making the playoffs every year, Lufkin hasn't advanced past the first round since 2012.
