Paul Rivera

Paul Rivera joined KLTV as a Reporter/Multimedia Journalist in June 2015. He is excited and thankful to be starting his career in East Texas. Paul is
from Slidell, Louisiana and was born to Puerto Rican parents who moved to the states in 1992.

Paul became interested in broadcast journalism in high school. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and a minor in Spanish from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.

While at Southeastern, Paul was a member of Theta Xi and worked at the university’s television station, The Southeastern Channel. He reported, anchored
and produced for the Emmy Award winning student newscast, Northshore News.

During this time, Paul was also recognized with multiple awards for his stories by the Southeast Journalism Conference, Society of Professional Journalists,
and College Broadcasters Inc. In 2015, Paul was named the top student broadcaster in the state by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters.

In his senior year of college, he received valuable experience when he interned at television stations WBRZ and WAFB in Baton Rouge and WDSU in New Orleans. Paul believes that journalism holds a very important role in our society. He loves the ability to tell stories that can help people. Paul also enjoys
journalism because he can travel around and meet new people daily.

Paul is a musician in his spare time and plays guitar and sings. Raised near New Orleans, Paul does not shy away from cheering for his New Orleans Saints
and Pelicans during their seasons. He also enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee and hanging out with friends and family.
