Soccer fans pack Rose Stadium for Futbol de las Rosas

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Rose Stadium was packed with soccer fans Saturday night.  It was the fifth year for Futbol de las Rosas.  This years event featured the Sub 20 teams from Club Leon and Tigres UANL.

Event organizer Price Arredondo said he didn't know what to expect when he helped start the exhibition game back in 2011.

"The idea had come up and we said let's try," said Arrendondo.  "Here it is five years later. I guess it's going to work and continue to grow slowly, but it's growing. We're happy with the crowd and our sponsors so it's been great and of course the weather cooperated. The sun broke through and no rain."

Tigres defeated Leon 3-0.
