Tyler Man Arrested For Enticing Minors For Sex On Internet

John Thomas Spurlock was arrested last Saturday at a motel in Kansas City, Missouri, where, investigators say, he was waiting to have sex with two children and their mother. According to an affidavit obtained today from authorties in Kansas City, Missouri, an FBI agent, posing as a 35 year old mother with two young girls, started talking to 48 year old John Spurlock in an internet chat room.

The affidavit says the contact was initiated by John Spurlock from a jewelry store in Longview. Spurlock Jewelry on McCann Road is owned by the suspect's brother. Investigators say John Spurlock unknowingly chatted with the agent using a computer inside the store.

During the chats with the agent, Spurlock expressed interest in performing sexual acts with the mother, and what the affadavit says Spurlocked belived to be, her 10 and 13 year old daughters. The affidavit says after weeks of chatting, Spurlock decided to meet the family in Kansas City. In a cell phone conversation, Spurlock told the undercover agent, quote " I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I think it's going to be a lot more fun than we realize. I think your daughters will enjoy it and I know I will," the affadavit says.

When Spurlock arrived at the motel February 5th, he was arrested by the FBI. During the search of his car, the FBI says they found condoms, beer, x-rated videos, a homemade ski mask and duct tape. In the affidavvit Spurlock says he went to Kansas City to teach the young girls about sex and answer their questions.

He also allegedly told FBI agents, quote: "I know I'm totally wrong. I am glad you caught me."

Spurlock is now in Federal custody and faces a detention hearing February 9 in Kansas City.
