East Texas Pump Jacks looking for host families

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The East Texas Pump Jacks open their first season in Tyler next week.   With the season nearly upon us, the team is still looking for host families.
The Pump Jacks will have college baseball players from across the country spending their summer in Tyler.   Each player needs a host family that can shelter them with a bed and meals over the next few months.

"I would say we're still looking for a dozen beds," said Pump Jacks General Manager Mike Lieberman.  "It's right around the corner. Some of these guys will be showing up on Sunday and Monday. We do need your help and they need your help. We're hoping to get some more families, get them in the fold, make them apart of Pump Jacks nation and experience what it's like to get this close to the players and to the organization."

Host families receive free season tickets from the Pump Jacks.  If you're interested, contact Mike Lieberman for the Pump Jacks.  Click here for more information.

Since 2004, Carthage and Gilmer have combined to play in 10 state championship games, and claim eight state titles. So that's why Saturday's Class 4A showdown between the number one Bulldogs and second ranked Buckeyes is sold out. Carthage, who won the Class 4A division I title last year, knocked off Gilmer 55 to 37, snapping the then Buckeyes 23 game regular season winning streak.
