Texas woman fired from new job over Facebook post

(CNN) -

A Texas mom vented about her new job online and was fired before she even began her first day.

With a small child to raise, Kaitlyn Walls finally found steady work at a daycare center in The Colony.

"I really needed it really bad. I'm a single mom try to get out on my own," said Walls.

The 27-year-old was excited about working, but not necessarily as thrilled about the job. She posted on Facebook, "I start my new job today but I absolutely hate working at day care" followed by "I just really hate being around a lot of kids".

"I had all these girls attacking me because I don't want to be around a lot of kids all the time," said Walls.

The posts spread among Facebook groups in Collin County and the attacks appeared faster than Kaitlyn's daughter. The worst have been removed but some remain that call her a "dumb (expletive)" or saying she has "bubonic plague".

"I actually cried it really hurt me because I wasn't trying to offend anybody ever," said Walls.

Walls said the day care operators got wind of the post and told her not to bother coming in.

"It really was a big mistake. I don't hate children, no not at all, I have my own, she's beautiful I love her. I was just venting," said Walls.

But it left Walls once again searching for work that she vows to keep to herself when she finds it.

"I'm not going to post anything like it ever no matter how I feel," said Walls.
