Charity Soup Drive Sets Record

The Salvation Army in East Texas will be receiving a record number of chicken soup donations this winter.

A soup drive sponsored by Chick-Fil-A has just wrapped up. For every serving of soup customers bought at Chick-Fil-A, the restaurant is donating a serving to The Salvation Army.

The Tyler locations sold 1,774 servings. 1,016 servings were served in Longview. And Lufkin's Chick-Fil-A sold 1,105 servings, making a total of 3,895 servings of soup. That's a 60 percent jump from last year's total.
