Taste of Longview: Good food for good cause


Doors open for the 33rd Annual Taste of Longview at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Maude Cobb Convention Center.

The event is sponsored by the Pilot Club of Longview and the East Texas Restaurant Association. Many local restaurants will feature samples of their signature foods and entertainment will be provided.

General admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. VIP Platinum sponsor reserved tables are $350 which includes 10 tickets to the event and admission at 6:30 p.m. Other sponsorship levels are $150 for Gold status and 5 tickets, and Silver for $75, no tickets.

The Pilot Club focused on brain health, helping people with brain-related disorders, such as Alzheimer's, and prevention of brain injuries, especially in children.

The club returns funds raised through the event to organizations such as The Alzheimer's Association, Unforgettable Tuesdays Day Club, Miracle League of East Texas, Mountain High Retreat and Circle of Friends, Project Lifesaver, the Adopt a School Program, 4 Anchor clubs in Longview and Kilgore, Longview Community Ministries, Arc of Gregg County and Windridge Equestrian Center.

The East Texas Restaurant Association returns their portion of the funds raised to the community by providing education and scholarships to individuals seeking careers in the restaurant and hospitality fields.

Advance tickets are available in Longview at the Camera Shop Hallmark, Longview locations of Texas Bank & Trust, Top Office Supply (on Eastman Road), Spring Hill Bank (Gilmer and Hollybrook locations), A-1 Trophies (on Pine Tree Road), and Manpower.
