Spring Hill ISD hires new AD & football coach

Spring Hill ISD Press Release

Spring Hill ISD is pleased to announce the hiring of Kelly Mercer, M.Ed. as its new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. Coach Mercer has been employed by the Plano Independent School District since 2002 where he has served as Offensive Coordinator, assistant track coach, and a math teacher.

Coach Mercer holds a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a Masters in Educational Administration from Texas A&M-Commerce. Coach Mercer is well respected in Texas high school coaching and has been very successful as a football coach.

He earned the honor of Teacher of the Year for Plano West High School and is active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Coaches Outreach.  Coach Mercer brings with him his wife Natalie of 14 years, who is also a math teacher and instructional coach. They have 2 daughters, Avery (12) and Adyson (8), who will be attending Spring Hill schools starting in the fall of 2015.

Spring Hill ISD is very excited about this new hire and we look forward to many years of success for all Spring Hill athletic programs.

    On Friday night,  Whitehouse wildcat Cameron Cantrell racked up 4 touchdowns and 194 receiving yards.  The Texas Tech commit was quarterback Jake Clemons' one and only target in the end-zone. .  Whitehouse beat Sulphur Springs 28-6.   Copyright 2017 KLTV. All rights reserved.
