Wednesday's Weather: Showers likely with a few storms possible this afternoon. Highs in the low 70s

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Say goodbye to the sunshine, because showers are on the way.

An area of low pressure, building in today, will bring showers into East Texas for the next few days. Showers will build in from the southwest throughout the morning, so don't forget your umbrella before you head out the door for work. We'll start the day in the mid 60s, but we won't get much warmer than that this afternoon. Highs will only reach the low 70s today, as a cold front slowly moves through the region. We can't rule out a few storms as we head into this afternoon and evening.

A cold front will stall to our north, bringing scattered showers into the region through Thursday morning. By then, we could see rain totals up to an inch and a half. Lows will be in the upper 50s to start the day tomorrow. Highs will warm into the mid 70s tomorrow afternoon, with mostly cloudy skies.

By Friday, another disturbance, building in from the west, will bring even more rain into the region through the start of the weekend. We'll see showers, and even a few storms, Friday and Saturday, as that low moves in. Highs will fall into the mid to upper 60s Friday, as a cold front pushes through the region. By Sunday, we'll be left with partly cloudy skies, and a few lingering showers.

Highs will jump back into the low 70s for the start of next week, with mostly sunny skies by then.

Have a wonderful day!
