7 from 7: Sleet, ice, and snow...oh, my.

Happy icy, sleet-riddled Monday, everyone! We hope you're staying warm and safe inside today.

Here are some stories for you to check out this afternoon:

1. We know that the weather is up front in most folks' minds today, and we are staying right on top of it for you. We are continuing to see a mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snow across a good portion of East Texas this afternoon and over the next several hours. This evening, small chances still exist for seeing light freezing rain, sleet, and/or snow through the night and into early Tuesday morning. Please join Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto at 4, 5, and 6 for the very latest updates. Also, please go to your phone's app store and download our free KLTV7 weather app.

2. And speaking of weather, you all have been sending in your weather pictures, and we've got them compiled into a slideshow. Here's the link to that, as you may want to click through to see what's happening beyond your yard in East Texas.

3. Those of you driving along Interstate 10 may have seen this truck which slid off the road today. Check it out here. It's a good reminder for you all to stay home if you can, and if you can't, drive very slowly and don't crowd other vehicles.

4. Did you watch the Academy Awards last night? Birdman, starring Michael Keaton, came away with the coveted best picture award. If you're interesting in a little reading on this cold afternoon, we have a wrap-up for you to check out here

5. If the cold weather is making you long for some hot soup, or maybe some chili, click this link to get Mama Steph's winter weather recipe collection. Make something hot and delicious tonight!

6. Here's our school closings list for those of you who need to know if and when your children need to go to school on Tuesday. We'll be updating it for you through the evening and into the morning tomorrow.

7. TxDOT crews continue to treat roadways throughout the area. Here's the latest info on road travel, as well as some safety tips for traveling in icy conditions.

And here's the link to our livestream, in case you'd like to watch our live newscasts on your computer.

We'll see you soon; stay safe and warm!
