Proud of East Texas: Loggins Restaurant

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Jerry Loggins was two years old when his dad, Paul, opened Loggins Restaurant in 1949. Their chicken fried steak sold for fifty cents then.

A lot of things have changed, but the friendly atmosphere and tasty food that made Loggins a landmark 66 years ago are still around today. Ninety percent of the customers are regulars, and many on the staff have worked there for over thirty years, making owners, Jerry and Lyanna Loggins, their staff, and customers seem like one big happy family.

Whether a third generation will carry on the tradition is questionable, and grandson, Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, will probably stick to football. But as long as Loggins Restaurant is around, we intend to enjoy it.

Loggins Restaurant is located at 1375 South Glenwood in Tyler, Texas and is open from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sundays through Fridays.
