Tuesday's Weather: Overcast skies turning partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 40s to low 50s

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - We'll start our Tuesday with patchy fog and light drizzle over East Texas, but this will clear for the afternoon, leaving partly cloudy skies.

We have another chilly day in store for East Texas. After starting the morning in the 30s and 40s, our highs will only warm into the upper 40s to low 50s this afternoon. A cold Arctic airmass will continue to build into the region, from the north, so this chilly weather will stick around through the end of the week.

We'll start our Wednesday cold, with lows in the low 30s tomorrow morning. Highs will only warm into the low 40s tomorrow afternoon, as that cold airmass settles in. Partly cloudy skies will continue through then, but rain is on the way!

An area of low pressure will build to our south, moving to the north along the Gulf. This low, combined with moisture from the Gulf, will bring rain to East Texas Thursday through Saturday. We could see between 1-3" of rain during that time period.

With lows at or near freezing Thursday morning, we cannot rule out the possibility for a slight chance (20%) of sleet in the early morning hours.

Lows will warm into the upper 30s to low 40s Friday and Saturday, so the chance for sleet will only come on Thursday morning. Highs will warm into the upper 40s to low 50s through the end of the week.

Partly cloudy skies return by the end of the weekend, with highs in the 50s.

Have a great day!?
