East Texas Doctor To Help Sri Lanka Tsunami Victims

Leaving for Sri Lanka, a Tyler doctor will provide care for orphans whose parents were killed in Asia's deadly tsunami.

Dr. Andrew Bentley owns a private practice, The Physician's Clinic. Tomorrow, he leaves for Sri Lanka for eight days with Children's Emergency Relief International.

Bentley says he believes God is calling him to help the disaster victims.

"I very much feel like that this is a trip the Lord would like me to take this week," the father of three said. "Close my office and give a helping hand."

Over the past 10 years, Dr. Bentley has been on several other mission trips to Africa and Latin America. So he says he's prepared for the devastation he will face in Asia.

Thursday on KLTV 7 News, we'll hear more from Dr. Bentley about what he plans to do in Sri Lanka and who else is going with him.
