Tuesday's Weather: Morning showers with highs in the 50s

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - A cold front moved through East Texas overnight, bringing cooler weather and showers into the area for our Tuesday.

We'll start the day warm, in the low 50s, but we'll get cooler throughout the day, behind the cold front. Winds will shift, out of the northeast from 5-15 mph, bringing in cooler air. We'll fall into the upper 40s this afternoon, the mid 40s this evening, and the mid 30s overnight.

Showers will build into East Texas today, from the southwest. Most of these showers will move through East Texas by 3 p.m. By then, we could have between .10-.75" of rainfall. Mostly cloudy skies will stick around all day.

For your Christmas Eve, expect partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Winds will stay out of the northwest from 5-15 mph. By Christmas, winds will shift out of the south around 15 mph, bringing warmer air into the region. After starting the day in the low to mid 30s, we'll warm into the upper 50s to low 60s by Thursday afternoon. It will be a beautiful day!

A slight chance (20%) for showers will return to East Texas Friday, ahead of another cold front. Highs will stay in the low 60s through then.

By the weekend, behind the front, sunny skies will build in, along with highs in the low 50s.
