Monday's Weather: Mostly cloudy highs in the 60s

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Mostly cloudy skies will stick around for the start of the work week, but warmer weather will begin to move in, at least for today.

We'll start the day in the low to mid 50s with a slight chance (20%) for a few isolated showers this morning. Any chance for rain will clear by lunch, with highs warming into the mid to upper 60s this afternoon. (That's about 10 degrees warmer than average for this time of the year!)

The warmer weather won't last long... a cold front, approaching from the northwest, will begin to move into our northwestern areas around 6 p.m. This front will continue to push all the way through East Texas by 6 a.m. Tuesday.

We'll start our Tuesday morning in the upper 40s. Highs will cool into the low 50s behind the front on Tuesday afternoon. Scattered showers (40%) will accompany the front throughout the day.

Showers will clear Tuesday night, with lows in the mid 30s to start our Christmas Eve. We'll have partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s Wednesday, with sunny skies by Christmas. Highs will rebound back into the low 60s by the holiday.

Mostly sunny skies continue through the end of the week, with another slight (20%) chance for showers Saturday.
