Tuesday's Weather: Sunny and cooler. Highs in the 50s

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - We have a chilly start to the day behind a cold front that pushed through East Texas on Monday.

Bundle up! We're in the upper 30s to low 40s this morning, so you'll need your jacket before you head out of the door. A cold front moved through the area yesterday, shifting our winds out of the northwest, pulling in cooler air. Highs will fall a few degrees below average for this time of the year, only reaching the low to mid 50s this afternoon.

An area of high pressure, centered to our north over the central plains, will keep skies clear today, but the chance for rain will return tomorrow.

Low pressure will begin to build over West Texas, moving to the east. Moisture streaming in from the Gulf, ahead of this low, will bring a chance (30%) for showers and a few thundershowers into East Texas tomorrow afternoon and evening. As the low pushes to the east, scattered showers will continue Thursday.

Our best chance (80%) for rain will come on Friday, as the area of low pressure moves into East Texas. Skies will stay cloudy Thursday through Friday, with lows in the mid 40s and highs in the upper 50s.?

The cold front associated with that area of low pressure, will move through on Friday, bringing cooler conditions for the weekend. Lows will drop into the mid 30s with highs in the low 50s.?
