Monday's Weather: Storms clear before noon, highs in the 60s

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - A line of showers and storms continues to build into East Texas early this morning, ahead of a cold front.

A few of these storms have some lightning strikes, but the main threat throughout the morning will be damaging winds. Some of these isolated storms are producing wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain at times. The storms, moving east around 45 mph, will clear the area before noon, leaving partly sunny skies, and highs in the upper 60s this afternoon.

Overnight, lows will fall into the low 40s, with mostly clear skies. We'll start to get cooler, behind the cold front, Tuesday, with highs falling into the mid 50s.

Another round of showers will move into East Texas Wednesday through Friday as an upper level disturbance builds in to the area. Lows will stay in the mid 30s to mid 40s, with highs in the mid 50s. Mostly sunny skies will return for the weekend.
