Proud of East Texas: Jack Rink Photos

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -

Seventy-three years ago, a young sailor stood on the deck of his ship in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and took photos of the December 7, 1941 Japanese sneak attack.

The film in his Brownie box camera remained undeveloped for over sixty years. Jack Rink, who ran a stall in a flea market in Pennsylvania, bought the old camera decades later and discovered the undeveloped film. He had it developed, and much to his surprise, found some of the most dramatic and complete photos ever taken of the attack.

Who took the photos, and why they were never developed, is a mystery that probably will never be solved.
