Tsunami Death Toll Reaches Climbs; US Aid Pours In

Military helicopters are ferrying disaster supplies into South Asia as a US delegation prepares for its trip to the region.

The delegation will get a close-up look at the devastation caused by last weekend's earthquake and resulting tsunamis and determine what more the US can do to help.

The confirmed death toll tops 123-thousand. Secretary of State Colin Powell and the President's brother, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, are leading the team of experts to the region.

The delegation's itinerary has not been finalized. But President Bush wants officials to meet with regional leaders and international organizations and report back on what additional assistance the United States can provide.

A state department spokesman says Powell discussed relief operations today with German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer in his weekly radio address, the President said "The carnage is of a scale that defies comprehension."
