Salvation Army Distributes Angel Tree Gifts

Christmas came a few days early for hundreds of East Texas families today. The Salvation Army held it's annual angel tree toy and food distribution today.

Families loaded up their cars with plenty of goodies for the holidays. Many Salvation Army workers and volunteers say they are getting letters thanking them for making this Christmas bright.

"This is a letter from a child and it says thanks so much for making this moment of happiness possible. Have a merry Christmas day. This is what it is all about," says Linda Edwards with the Salvation Army.

Distribution of gifts and food continues tomorrow. By then the Salvation Army hopes to have given out more than 28 hundred sacks of groceries along with angel tree gifts for 4000 children and seniors in Smith County.
