PITTSBURG, TX (KLTV) - For the first time in over forty years, the city of Pittsburg in Camp County will have a new "Peach Queen."
Pittsburg held its first Peach Festival in 1963, at a time when it was known as "the Peach Capitol of Texas." The festival died out in the mid 1970's.
In the city's efforts to "restore the past and link it to the future, Pittsburg selected Summer Pylant as the 2014 Supreme Peach Queen." One of her first historic appearances will be at the unveiling of the restored Coca Cola sign in downtown Pittsburg at 11 a.m. on October 18.
