Red Raiders Headed To San Antonio

Tyler's Robert E. Lee Red Raider football team hit the road this morning, headed for the state championship.

The Red Raiders left at 8:00 this morning to head to San Antonio.

The students and their coaches loaded up their gear for the six hour drive. Even Santa went along for the ride.

We asked the coaches and players if this exciting week has made it difficult for them to focus on tomorrow's game.

Red Raider's quarterback, Josh Hill says, "its been a distraction, but Coach Owens has really pounded on us to stay focused, and so I think we really have, and so everybody really has stayed focused, and just ready to play."

Coach Mike Owens said, "Its been a pretty normal week, as far as practice and all that goes. But, you know, there's extra attention and everything because of the importance of the game. But as far as our players are concerned, its been just another week."

Family members were also there to see them off.

The Red Raiders will be playing tomorrow at noon at San Antonio's Alamodome against Spring Westfield.
