The Kilgore High School football team continues the 2004 postseason with a UIL Class 4A Division II semifinal playoff game against Pflugerville Connally on Saturday.
The game is to be played at 2 p.m. at the Birdville ISD Fine Arts and Sports Complex in North Richland Hills (near Fort Worth). The winner of the game advances to the Division II state championship.
Tickets for the game are still available at the Mitchell Field House on the KHS campus — $6 for adults, $4 for students. At the game, all tickets will be $8. The tickets will be on sale at the school until noon Friday. Fans wanting to ride a chartered bus to the game can book a seat by calling Debbie Copeland at the field house at (903) 984-6009 — tickets for the bus are $20 each.
The school’s booster club and several fans are planning a send-off for the team at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, and the booster club’s regular weekly tailgate party will begin at noon Saturday at the stadium. If you can’t go to the game, listen to it live on 1240 AM — the Ragin’ Red Broadcasting team of Don Hedrick, Doug Smith and Ronnie Chappell.
You can also hear the broadcast on the Internet (the same team) on the Texas Sports Radio Network Web site. That site is www.tsrnsports.com.
The Bulldogs are 14-0, and this is the longest playoff run in school history.
