Wildcats Throwing Out Rankings For State Semi-Final Game

The Big Sandy football team isn't worried about rankings.  After all, they were state ranked to start the season, only to lose a few games and fall out of the rankings. Shiner, the team they play Saturday, is now ranked number one in the state.  That's OK says the Wildcats, they just want play some football.

"We put in work in the offseason last year," said senior captain, running back Andree Smith, "this year during two-a-days. We've had bumps and bruises and all that and it's brought us together as a team and it's made it more exciting, coming together and winning games."

"Our goal to start the year was to win a state championship," said head coach Scott Callaway, "but for us to win the state championship, we're putting all of our stock into this game and this is the most important game of our football season right here this Saturday evening."

Big Sandy's game against Shiner is Saturday night at 7:00 at Baylor's  Floyd Casey Stadium in waco.

NOTE:  Big Sandy will have two fan buses available for Saturdays game against Shiner in Waco.  These are 52 passenger charter buses.  Cost to ride is $12 per person.  This does not include the cost of the ticket to the game.  Those prices are $8 for adults and $4 for students.  Fan buses will depart from the front of Big Sandy schools at 2:45pm on Saturday and return immediately after the game.  Contact any campus at Big Sandy ISD for more information.  903-636-5287.
