Troup Goes Head Over Heals For It's Football Team

The city of Troup has fallen in love with it's football team. Everywhere you look, tiger fever has taken hold.  At 13-1 the Tigers are playing for a spot in the Class 2A Division II state championship game, and the community is showing, they are behind them 100%.

"Troup is a small town and we're a close knit town," Troup mayor John Whitsell. "We try to support everything that goes on here and there's just a spirit and a togetherness the citizens of Troup and the school district that just, it's probably unprecedented anywhere else."

"It carries over a lot," said troup running back Jarriel Norman, "because when we know we've got the whole community behind us, I mean, it just gives us a whole lot of intensity and we go out and play with that same intensity."

Troup plays Lexington Friday at 7:30 at Waco ISD Stadium.
