Lon Morris Junior College Mourns Death Of School President

An East Texas college campus is mourning the loss of a leader. Doctor Clifford Lee, the president of Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville, died Thursday morning. He was 56 years old. For the past 10 years he served as president of the college.
Doctor Lee is credited with renovating the Lon Morris campus and improving the college academically. Students and faculty say he will be greatly missed. "It was very shocking, it's surprised the whole campus," said student Zach Schleicher. "He was very involved."
"Dr. Lee, if he were standing here he would say we're going to have school," said Administrator Tommy Ferguson. "We're going to go on with our programs, we're going to go on with college. If he were here that's what he would want us to do." A public memorial service for Dr. Lee will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Lon Morris Chapel.
