7 from 7: Britney Spears comes through for ailing East Texas 'superfan'

 Greetings! We hope you are having a successful day and are staying cool.

Here are some stories for you to peruse this afternoon:

1. Cory Moraw, a young man from Longview, met his idol Britney Spears last week at her show in Las Vegas. Moraw suffers from several medical issues and doctors say he doesn't have much longer to live. We introduced you to Moraw after hundreds of East Texans began raising money to send him to the concert. After KLTV 7's coverage, Britney Spears got word of what was going on down here and made it happen. We're with him today as he shares photos, videos and memories of meeting his idol; make sure to watch KLTV 7 News at 6 to see his story.

2. If you're having trouble with your iPhone 5 battery, you might be eligible for a free replacement.Apple said "a very small percentage" of iPhone 5 smartphones may "suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently."

3. A couple and their 12-year-old daughter is safe today after escaping from their burning home...thanks to their dog. We'll tell you more at 6.

4. Kilgore police have arrested a man after he pulled a rifle on firefighters working on a house fire Saturday morning. Kenny Wayne Davlin, police say, pointed an AR-15 at firefighters battling a blaze at a neighboring home. Shots were exchanged, and Fire Marshal Brandon Biggs shot Davlin in the shoulder. Davlin was hospitalized Sunday, but was released and immediately booked into Rusk County Jail.

5. This year's kindergarten class is one of the first to have spent their entire lives connected to technology. We spoke with a parent and a teacher today to find out who this technology has changed education for our kids. Well tell you more tonight at 5.
