QUITMAN, TX (KLTV) - A candlelight vigil is being held Sunday night for two young girls who were found dead in an apartment complex in Quitman one month ago.

The vigil is at Gov. Jim Hogg City Park in Quitman at 7 p.m.

According to Quitman Police, on July 24, a male caller reported two girls were not breathing and he couldn't wake them up. When police arrived, three-year-old Gabriella Guerrero and one-year-old Natalye Price were found dead.

Autopsy results showed that both children died from blunt force trauma and listed the cause as homicide.

Police arrested Thomas Wayne Liles, of Quitman, for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. Witnesses said Liles threw "a large item" into a dumpster next to the building before help arrived to assist the girls.

No new charges have been added.
