SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Police in Salem are looking for a man who broke into a woman's apartment and left a pornographic video in her 7-year-old daughter's room.

The woman, who doesn't want to be identified, told officials her daughter woke her up around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and told her a strange man had been in her room.

The girl said as she was sleeping she felt someone stepping on her bed, and then she saw a man jump out the window.

Police believe the man broke into the house earlier in the day and hid in the girl's bedroom closet until everyone was asleep.

He left behind a photo in the girl's closet and a pornographic film in her DVD player. The woman said he took out a cartoon DVD and replaced it with the graphic one.

The woman has changed the locks on her doors and windows, but says she still feels shaken up.

"To know that a man was in my home when I got here. To know he heard me go in there to tell my daughter ‘Good night, I love you, I'll see you in the morning.' Very scary," she said.

A similar incident happened about an hour later at a house three miles away. Police say a woman woke up when she felt someone standing or kneeling on her bed. She saw a man standing over her bed with his hands out like he was going to touch her. The woman screamed, and the man ran out.

No arrests have been made in either incident.
