LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

An obstacle course full of mud is waiting for East Texans to take the challenge and raise money for a special park.

Workers completed the course at Longview's Lear park earlier today, where the first annual Run Like It's Hot mud run will be held. The event will benefit the Miracle League of East Texas, a group that provides opportunities for children with special needs to play baseball.

More than a thousand runners are expected to participate in tomorrow's event, which features mud pits, rope climbs and other obstacles. All of the money raised will go to build a children's special needs baseball field.

Gates open at Lear park tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. The first field of runners will hit the mud at 7:30.

Tickets to watch and support the run will cost $5.
