TYLER, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas woman was maced as she left her job at Arby's in the 4000 block of South Broadway just after midnight on Wednesday. She was getting into her car when the attack happened.

Tyler police say she left the building with a co-worker, but he drove off before she did, and that's when the attack happened. A man dressed in black wearing a black ski mask with a skull on it sprayed her with mace or pepper spray. He didn't let her close the door, then got in on the passenger side.

She got out of the car and hit her car alarm. She ran next door to McDonalds where 911 was called. By the time police arrived, the suspect was gone. None of the woman's belongings were missing.

Police say she did the right thing by setting off the alarm and getting out of the car. The woman was not seriously injured in the attack.

If you work late Tyler, police recommend leaving with others, park close together in the light and drive off at the same time.
