Peanut butter recall affects several national, store brands

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Check the information on your jar of peanut butter - it may have been included in a recall announcement.

nSpired Natural Foods issued a recall of certain lots of peanut and nut butters released under several national and store brands because of a risk of salmonella contamination.

Some of the brands affected include Arrowhead Mills, MaraNatha, Kroger, Safeway, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.

The company has posted a list of all affected varieties to the FDA website. Consumers are asked to dispose of the affected products immediately and call 1-800-937-7008 for information on replacements or refunds.
