ETMC CEO receives ACHE recognition award

TYLER, TX - Elmer G. Ellis, president/CEO of East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System, has received an American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) distinguished recognition award to celebrate his commitment to the healthcare management profession and his volunteer service to ACHE.

Ellis received the honor at the East Texas chapter meeting of ACHE in July in Tyler. He is an ACHE Fellow, as well as a past ACHE Regent for East Texas. The professional organization has previously honored Ellis with its Regent's Award and its Senior Level Healthcare Executive Award for outstanding achievements in healthcare management.

ACHE offers educational and credentialing programs to healthcare executives across the United States and collaborates with other healthcare organizations to strengthen the medical profession.

Ellis, who has more than 45 years of service in the healthcare industry, has served as president/CEO for the ETMC system since 1985.
