Whitehouse Senior Dies In Car Crash

Whitehouse high school senior, 18-year-old Scott Everett Baker, died this afternoon as he was leaving school. Authorities say Baker was driving on FM 346 when he began to skid sideways. It happened 1.5 miles east of Whitehouse. Baker's truck turned over and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 3:30 this afternoon. Baker was a defensive back for the high school football team in Whitehouse.

We talked this evening to Principal Christopher Moran who says once word spread of the accident several students gathered back to the school. They were able to speak to counselors about the accident.

Principal Moran wanted to wait until tomorrow to make a formal statement about Baker's death.
