Kilgore is ready to run

KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - Even without pads, the Kilgore Bulldogs are a bit intimidating.

"It's just about being physical," said senior running back Kevrin Justice.  "Be physical without pads, be physical with pads. That's what we're coached to do."

"We'll start punishing people," said offensive lineman Blake Guthrie.  "That's being Kilgore football, getting after everybody."

The Bulldogs strength, is their strength.  It's old school football. Dominate on defense, and run the football.  Kevrin Justice has covered a lot of ground.  One of the top returning backs in the state, Justice rushed for nearly 2 thousand yards last season and 36 touchdowns.

"We like Kevrin a lot because he runs hard and doesn't take no for an answer," said Guthrie.  "The first guy's not going to take him down."

Justice believes he needs to be better his senior year.

"I've just got to keep my body active," said Justice.  "Work a lot harder than I did last year. Now being a leader, I have to do a lot more than I did last year."

Justice is one of eight starters returning from last years state runner up team.  The Bulldogs believe that championship run can help them return AT&T stadium.

"The year before we got third, last year we got second," said Justice.  "Now we have no choice but to get first. That's what my minds set on the team mind set is on. That's what we plan on accomplishing this year."
