East Texas man found with stolen firearm, arrested for aggravated assault

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

An East Texas man was arrested for aggravated assault after deputies caught him with a stolen firearm.

Gregg County sheriff's deputies arrested Robert Barber, 35, of White Oak, on Sheppard Road near Gladewater on Tuesday.

Barber was booked into the Gregg County Jail on bonds totaling $34,000 after he was found with several outstanding warrants from Upshur County. Charges include violation of promise to appear, driving with an invalid licence, driving without a motorcycle licence, theft of a firearm, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He was released Wednesday after posting bond.
