ATV Thefts Rising In Gregg County

Make sure your three or four wheeler is securely locked up; that's the message from East Texas law enforcement. Police say 21 ATV thefts have been reported in Gregg County this year, 7 of them in just the last month. Officials tell us the thefts are more common after the start of deer season, when owners tend to leave the vehicles outside and unlocked.
Thefts have also been reported in Smith, Rusk, and Upshur County. Investigators say it's a relatively easy item to steal. For more information on ATV thefts,  victims are asked to call the East Texas auto theft task force, at the Gregg County Sheriffs Office.
