Hot and humid weather continues across East Texas on your Monday, but significant changes are in store as we progress through the rest of your work week.
An unseasonable “cool” front will make progress towards the area, this afternoon bringing cooler weather to the area.
Monday night, look for a front to move into portions of East Texas, bringing a northerly flow and drier air into the region. A few scattered showers and storms will be possible through the day Monday, but widespread rainfall is not expected.
The front will move toward the Gulf Coast by the end of the work week, providing us with less humid and cooler weather. Temperatures by the end of the work week will average 5-15 degrees below normal for this time of year.
A stronger disturbance will arrive over East Texas Wednesday night into Thursday. This system will help to enhance scattered showers and storms across the entire area. Look for widespread showers and storms throughout your Thursday. Some of these storms could become strong locally.
The latest computer guidance continues to indicate the potential for a widespread 1-3" of rainfall from Wednesday night through Friday morning.
