Makeovers, Bargain Style!

Jessie Fahay knows it's important to make a good first impression, especially when it comes to her career. She admits her casual look could use a big time boost. "I do need help with, with finding new looks and new images, definitely, and with my hair and my makeup, definitely," says the 20 year old.

With so many looks out there, how do you know which one is right for you? It has some turning to the experts for the perfect head-to-toe makeover. Stylist Gus Lopez at the JC Penney Salon in Tyler says it's common for clients to ask for advice to avoid a fashion disaster. "They sit in the chair and say, 'What do you think would look best on me?'. So we make a judgement based on their facial features and their career," says Lopez, "That way we can give them a style that goes according to their lifestyle."

The transformation begins for Jessie. She paid $100 for half a day with an image consultant. The consultation starts with skin-tone analysis and then it's on to the hair salon. After a thorough wash, Jessie's ready for some style. After getting a cut and layers on the front, Jessie already sees a big change. "Wow, wow it's so much fuller!," she says looking in the mirror.

"Now that you have gorgeous new hair, how about some gorgeous new makeup?," says the professional consultant. Jessie gets a quick make-up application to go with her low-maintenance lifestyle. And the last stop of the day: wardrobe. Clothes, accessories, shoes... in and out of the dressing room she goes. Until she finds a look she loves and a new attitude about her future.

"I'm very happy, very excited," says Jessie about her "before" and "after."
