7 from 7: Tragedy in Wood County as two children are reported deceased

 Good afternoon! 

Here are some stories we are working on for you this afternoon:

1. Sad news today out of Wood County, as two children are deceased and police are investigating to find out why. We have a reporter on the scene to keep you updated; stay with us. 

2. Under the authority of the Hunt County Constable, the SPCA of Texas is seized 222 cruelly treated animals—166 dogs, 43 cats, 14 kittens and 13 puppies—on Wednesday from a property in Wolfe City, TX. Of these animals, two kittens, one cat and one puppy were found deceased on the property. Some of the animals were missing eyes and were suffering malnutrition and hair loss.

3. European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst took a photo of the fighting in the Middle East from aboard the International Space Station.“My saddest photo yet,” Gerst tweeted. “From #ISS we can actually see explosions and rockets flying over #Gaza & #Israel.

4. Smith Co. DA Matt Bingham called the contents of James Calvert's seized computer "weird.' Much more was revealed in court today as our Melanie Torre sat in. Her blog updates are all here so you can read exactly what happened. She'll also fill you in tonight on KLTV7 News at 6.

5. Ohio State University fired the director of its celebrated marching band on Thursday amid allegations he knew about and ignored "serious cultural issues," some involving rituals where students were pressured to march in their underwear or participate in sexually themed stunts.

6. An Air Algerie jetliner carrying 116 people vanished Thursday in a rainstorm over restive northern Mali, and French officials say it has probably crashed - the third major international aviation disaster in a week. French fighter jets, U.N. peacekeepers and others hunted for signs of wreckage. 

7. Tyler ISD is expected to name a lone finalist for superintendent on Thursday at its board meeting. The meeting will be tonight at 6 at the Jim Plyler Instructional Complex on Glenwood. We'll keep you posted.
