LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
Some the best swimmers our area has to offer competed in the East Texas Summer Swim League All-Star meet on Saturday at LeTourneau University.
Over 200 swimmers ranging from four to 18 years old qualified for the event, which wraps up the summer league. Some of the teams that participated are from Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Longview, and even near Mount Pleasant. The swim league is for fun, but you can bet the kids want to take home a medal.
"The competition is a little tougher, the emotions were a little bit higher," event director Sean Fortier said. "The highest qualified swimmers will get a trophy at the end so its a lot of competition. Like they say the next lane is my best friend and most fierce competitor."
