 Good afternoon!

Here are are some news stories to check out today:

1.Some good news on the severe weather threat: the Storm Prediction Center has removed East Texas from the slight risk threat for Thursday through early Friday morning.Does that mean we are not going to see some severe storms? Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto says absolutely not. Read more about what to expect here, and make sure to join us at 4, 5 and 6 for more details.

2. The search for a missing Longview chiropractor has been suspended after 64 hours of search time. Coast Guard search-and-rescue crews were searching for Dr. John Petty, a 63-year-old chiropractor, who went missing during a commercial shark-diving venture in the vicinity of West End, Bahamas on Sunday night. His family says it is now believed that Petty was attacked by sharks.

3. Six individuals have been arrested following a lengthy investigation into illegal gambling, money laundering and drug trafficking in East Texas. Over $30,000 was seized, as well as meth and firearms.

4. A man who used a can of spray paint and a lighter as a makeshift blowtorch to kill a spider in his laundry room started a blaze that caused $60,000 worth of damage, Seattle fire officials said Wednesday. The man and his mother got out of the house, and no injuries were reported in the fire. Officials said the man used the spray paint and lighter as "a self-made blowtorch to kill a spider in the laundry room" of a rental house.

5. Longview police have arrested one of the suspects wanted in a string of aggravated robberies in Tyler. Christopher Charles Nelson was taken into custody in Longview on Wednesday morning.Tyler investigators have identified and secured warrants for the suspects responsible for the June 22 aggravated robberies.

6. Senate Republicans on Wednesday blocked a bill aimed at restoring free contraception for women who get their health insurance from companies with religious objections, a legislative setback for Democrats that they hope will be a political winner in November's elections.The vote was 56-43 to move ahead on the measure, short of the 60 votes necessary to proceed.

7. The Israeli military agreed to a U.N.-brokered five-hour "humanitarian" pause starting Thursday in its strikes on the Gaza Strip to allow Palestinians to restock food, water and other necessities, hours after an attack by an Israeli naval vessel killed four Palestinian boys playing on the beach.
