EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Some good news on the severe weather threat, the Storm Prediction Center has removed East Texas from the slight risk threat for Thursday through early Friday morning.

It appears that most of the severe storms are likely over North Texas
and not East Texas. Now, does this mean we are in the clear from severe storms? Absolutely not. It is just a more concentrated area should be to our west.

The risk for strong, thunderstorms winds and large hail has subsided a bit, but in one or two
isolated strong storms, we could see those threats. Continuing to focus on the flash flooding threat late Thursday and on Friday. Rainfall totals are expected to remain in the 2"- 4" range with a few locations nearing 5" in the stronger storms, or in areas where heavy rain moves over the same location over and over again (training).

As of this time, a Flash Flood Watch will be in effect from Thursday morning, through Friday afternoon for the NW sections of ETX and from Thursday evening through Friday evening for the North Central and NE sections of ETX.
