BULLARD, TX (KLTV) - During a meeting Monday night, the Bullard ISD Board of Trustees appointed Joe Dan Lee as interim superintendent.
Lee has been in public education for more than 30 years. He has spent 27 of those years as a Superintendent in various school districts in Texas including Redwater ISD, Pine Tree ISD, and Georgetown ISD. He was named the Region 8 Superintendent of the Year in 1988, and was a finalist for the 2002 Region 7 Superintendent of the Year. He also worked for the Texas Association of School Boards from 2007-2010.
Lee received both his Bachelor and Master degrees from Texas A&M University – Commerce. Additionally, he holds Educational Administration certificates in Mid-Management and Superintendent Certification.
Lee will assume the role of Interim Superintendent on August 1, 2014.
Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District named former Bullard ISD superintendent Keith Bryant as the lone finalist for the district's new superintendent. Bryant had been with Bullard ISD for six years.
A twenty-one day waiting period will be in effect before Lubbock-Cooper can officially hire Bryant.
